Our Vision

Sacred Heart High School seeks to extend our community’s commitment to Catholic education into the high school years, providing families in and around Yankton, South Dakota, with an authentically Catholic educational option.

In partnership with parents, we seek to form young men and women who know and love Jesus Christ, think critically and independently, live virtuously, serve others, and respond with courage and joy to God’s call in their lives.

Our Mission

Sacred Heart High School forms the whole person—mind, body, and soul—through a rigorous Catholic liberal arts education centered on Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith.

We help students seek truth, recognize goodness, appreciate beauty, and understand the dignity and sanctity of every human life. Through theology, literature, history, philosophy, mathematics, science, the arts, technology, athletics, and Socratic discussion, students learn to reason carefully, communicate clearly, and engage the modern world with faith, wisdom, courage, and hope.

Our Story

Sacred Heart Catholic School already serves children through eighth grade. This initiative grew from a desire to extend that Catholic education into the high school years.

The current planning model envisions a four-year high school serving approximately 100–120 students once fully mature, beginning with a smaller founding enrollment and growing one class at a time.
